Remembrance

Woodcut - 2015

Odd moments –

they work in and out of the pattern and remind us we have little control of the design.

We move to patterns to fool ourselves.

And our movements echo others.

At odd moments, we move in and out of patterns

Still torn apart, still seamed together

Seemingly seamed in time.

How long before the strings will fray

And unravel at their will

Fast and completely spin apart

Or frayed ends, static and alone

They wantingly seek another to seam to.
